The Dakota Calamity Lacrosse Team was established for girls to play the game of lacrosse in an open, family friendly, supportive atmosphere that will foster their athletic and personal abilities. Through the Dakota Calamity the girls will be able to play games regionally in Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, and of course South Dakota.  They will also be given the opportunity to attend tournaments and jamborees to further their lacrosse abilities and opportunities to potentially take their abilities on to play in college. 

Girls Lacrosse in South Dakota is not well known outside of the region or even in the state of South Dakota.  We would like to change that. We would like to:  further the promotion of lacrosse as a girls sport in South Dakota.  We would like to: give the girls opportunities to be looked at by colleges, the national teams, etc… so they can take their love of the sport further if they choose to do so.  Furthermore, we would like to:  help girls become the best version of themselves through sport.

The mission of the Dakota Calamity Women’s Lacrosse Team is:
“Give girls exposure within the game of lacrosse to a positive environment in which girls can further their dreams in lacrosse while furthering the development of lacrosse in South Dakota.”
